Petitioners seek protection of their life and liberty as they apprehend danger at the hands of respondents No.4 to 8 and other relatives because they have married each other on 08.06.2020 against the wishes of the said respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he has identified the petitioners as per the documents attached. It is further submitted that they have solemnized marriage with each other out of their own free will and volition and that this is their first marriage. It is contended that the petitioners are major, their dates of birth being 01.01.2002 and 15.03.2001, respectively. True copies of Aadhar cards of both the petitioners have been appended with the petition as Annexures P1 and P2, respectively. Photographs of the marriage are on record as Annexure P3. Petitioners, it is stated, have submitted representation dated OMKAR SINGH 2020.06.12 14:32 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court, Chandigarh

CRWP No.3707 of 2020 [2] 08.06.2020 (Annexure P4) to respondent No.2 i.e., the Superintendent of Police, Karnal for redressal of their grievance but no action has been taken thereon.

Notice of motion to Advocate General, Haryana. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Anmol Malik, DAG, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3. Advance copy of the petition stands served.

Without commenting upon the age of the petitioners or the validity of their marriage or the validity and genuineness of the certificates/documents appended with the petition, respondent No.2 - Superintendent of Police, Karnal is directed to look into representation dated 08.06.2020 submitted by the petitioners and take appropriate action if any/as may be required, keeping in view the threat perception to the petitioners.

It is, however, made clear that this order shall have no effect on the validity of the alleged marriage of the petitioners and neither will any other civil or criminal proceedings initiated against the petitioners be barred due to this order.

Petition is disposed of accordingly.
