State of Punjab and others ... Respondents

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURINDER GUPTA

Present:

Petitioners in person with Mr. Dixit Garg, Advocate.

SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Learned counsel for petitioners submits that petitioners have filed this petition seeking protection of their lives and liberty. They are major and have married against the wishes of respondent No.5, who is father of petitioner No. 1. Apprehending danger to their lives and liberty, petitioner No.1 moved representation dated 10.06.2018 (Annexure P-7) to SHO, Police Station Amloh, District Fatehgarh Sahib. He confines the relief claimed in this petition for direction to respondent No.2 to look into the representation of petitioner No.1 and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

In view of above submission of learned counsel for petitioners, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib, to look into the representation dated 10.06.2018 Annexure P-7 (addressed to SHO, Police Station Amloh, District Fatehgarh Sahib) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order along with representation in his office. However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them.
