1. The petitioner who is working on contractual basis as Lecturer in Government College, Malerkotla, District Sangrur who is due to attain the age of 58 years on 16.6.2020 seeks a direction to the respondents to allow him to continue till 30.09.2020 in accordance with the Extension Policy dated 2.3.2020 (Annexure P-8).

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that he had made the representation dated 31.5.2020 to the respondents but no order has been passed thereupon.

4. Ms. Anu Pal, DAG, Punjab to whom an advance copy of petition has already been furnished accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

5. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and also learned State counsel. Since the petitioner is yet to attain the age of 58 years on 16.6.2020, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to consider the representation (Anneuxre P-9) in light of the Extension Policy dated 2.3.2020 (Annexure P-8) within 2 days from receipt of copy of said representation which shall be furnished by the petitioner along with copy of this order by tomorrow through E.mail. If conveniently possible, a hard copy of this order & representation be also submitted in the office of respondent No.3.

6. Learned State counsel is also requested to transmit the copy of this order and copy of the representation to the concerned authority by tomorrow.
