* * * DEEPAK SIBAL, J. (Oral) The matter has been taken up through video conferencing. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that he would be satisfied if the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the trial Court to finally adjudicate upon the petitioner's trial within six months from today. Inter-alia for the reason that the petitioner already stands convicted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985; 3100 tablets of intoxicant have allegedly been recovered from the petitioner and he is in custody since 09.11.2019, the above alternate prayer made on behalf of the petitioner is accepted and, accordingly, subject to the petitioner's cooperation, the trial Court is directed to dispose of the petitioner's trial within six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, in accordance with law. It is clarified that in case the petitioner's trial is not disposed of in the aforesaid period of six months, after the petitioner shows that the delay in its disposal of his trial is not attributable to him, he may renew his plea for regular bail.
