(ORAL) The petitioners have filed present petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty, at the hands of respondents No. 4 to 8, as they have solemnized marriage against the wishes of their parents.

Reply dated 29.07.2021 by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Fazilka, District Fazlika, on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3, along with copy of statement of petitioner No. 1-Pooja Rani, dated 23.07.2021 (Annexure R-1/T), received through e-mail from learned counsel for the State is taken on record. Be tagged at the appropriate place.

According to the said reply, petitioner No. 1-Pooja Rani, suffered a statement before the police that she solemnized marriage with RISHU KATARIA 2021.11.22 10:32 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRWP-4185-2021 -2petitioner No. 2-Harmeet Singh, with her own consent and free will against the wishes of her parents. They filed the present petition seeking police protection from the hands of private respondents, but now there is no danger to their life and liberty and they do not need any police protection.

In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the instant petition has been rendered infructuous and may be disposed of, as such.

The instant petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous.
