-.- JAISHREE THAKUR J. (ORAL) Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that petitioner No.1 was married to respondent No.7 on 18.05.2013 and one son was born out of the wedlock. The husband of petitioner No.1 is a mentally retarded person and the petitioner was being harassed by respondents No.5 to 8 from the very first day of the marriage. She informed her parents i.e. respondents No.9 to 10 about the ill-treatment that was being given to her but they instead of helping her out, disowned her by giving a publication in the newspaper. After being thrown out of her matrimonial as well as paternal home, petitioner No.1 is now residing with petitioner No.2 since 22.04.2020. However, they apprehend danger from respondents No.5 to 11. In this regard, petitioner No.1 has also submitted a representation dated 01.06.2020 (Annexure P-4) to respondent No.2 but no action has been taken so far.

Without commenting on the relationship between petitioner No.1 and 2 and entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of this petition with direction to respondent No.2 to decide the representation of the petitioner No.1 (Annexure P-4) within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and grant them protection, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. It is made clear that this order shall not be taken to protect the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any committed by them.
