**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Prayer in this petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus directing official respondents to get released detenue, namely, Lovepreet Kaur, minor daughter of the petitioner, from the illegal confinement of respondents No.4 to 6.

Vide order dated 22.04.2022 passed by this Court, respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur, was directed to depute a gazetted officer for visiting the house of the private respondents and make an enquiry regarding the contentions raised by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

In compliance thereof, status report by way of an affidavit dated 18.07.2022 of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Zira, District Ferozepur, was filed on behalf of the respondent-State, in the Registry and the same is taken on record.

CRWP-3760-2022 (O&M) -2As per the said status report, on 16.05.2022, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Zira, District Ferozepur, raided the house of the private respondents but the detenue was not found there. Thereafter, several raids were conducted and the detenue was traced out on 18.05.2022 and she was asked for her medical check-up, to which she refused. Accordingly, the detenue was sent to Vanita Gandhi Ashram, Jalandhar. Then on 02.06.2022, the detenue was produced before the Judicial Magistrate, 1st Class, Zira, where her statement under Section 164 Cr.P.C. was recorded; she was medically checked up and DDR No.56 dated 02.06.2022 under Sections 376-D and 506 IPC and Section 6 POCSO Act, was lodged against Harbans Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Lovepreet Singh and Talwindeer Singh. Ultimately, with the consent of the detenue, she was handed over to the petitioner. In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioner does not press the present petition further.

Dismissed as not pressed.
