The instant petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuing a mandamus to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of petitioner at the hands of private respondents and not to harass her in any manner.

It is contended that private respondents No.4 and 5 had married elder sister of the petitioner with an old man and now they want to solemnize marriage of the petitioner with an old person under the greed of money. For the aforesaid reason, she left her paternal home and is now residing in a rented accommodation. However, she has a threat perception at the hands of respondents No.4 and 5 and therefore, prays for protection to her life and liberty.

In view of the above, I dispose of the instant petition by directing the official respondents to treat the instant petition as representation on behalf of the petitioner and take a decision on the same as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of two weeks from today in accordance with law by passing a speaking order and if there is any merit found in the contention raised by the petitioner, adequate protection be provided to her.
