Through the instant petition, a prayer is made for issuance of directions upon the respondents No.2 and 3, to ensure protection of petitioner's life and liberty at the hands of the respondents No.4 and 5, who are petitioner's son and daughter-in-law respectively. 2.

A perusal of the short reply, as became furnished on affidavit of Jaspreet Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Phagwara, Kapurthala, reveals that, earlier when the petitioner made an application on similar grounds before the S.H.O. concerned against the private respondents, proceedings under Section 107/150 of the Cr.P.C. were initiated against the private respondents, vide DDR No.07 dated 10.03.2023. It further erupts from the short reply that, although the petitioner has not made any representation before the police for redressal of his grievance, as becomes now canvassed in the instant petition, but, even then the S.H.O. concerned has, after receiving a copy of the instant DEVINDER YADAV 2024.08.23 09:11 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CRWP-2951-2024 petition, initiated inquiry and summoned the parties. However, the private respondents did not cause appearance and they could not even be found at the given address.

In view of the above, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the S.H.O. concerned to evaluate as to whether there is any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner and if so, to take appropriate action warranted under law and ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioner. 4.

Disposed of accordingly.

A copy of this order be forthwith sent to the S.H.O. concerned for information and compliance.
