 The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/ 227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus seeking direction to get the detenue released who is stated to be in illegal custody of respondent Nos.6 to 8.

In compliance to order dated 17.03.2025 passed by this Court, reply by way of an affidavit of Naveen Pal Singh Lehal, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, City II, District SAS Nagar on behalf of the respondent-State has been filed which is taken on record.

As per reply, one complaint was received from one Ram Karan in the office of SHO, PS, Phase 11, District SAS Nagar that his daughter had gone missing from their house without informing anyone. However, on enquiry and after making efforts to trace the alleged detenue, the Investigating Officer was able to contact her on her whatsapp number. Upon being contacted, the alleged detenue informed the Investigating Officer concerned that she had left her home out of her own free will Sonia Puri 2025.05.16 18:43 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP No.2591 of 2025 (O&M) -2and no one has forced her to leave and she is happy wherever she is residing. In this regard, the alleged detenue is also stated to have sent her statement dated 20.03.2025.
