IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT

CHANDIGARH (222) RSA-2212-2000(O&M) Date of Decision:-28.01.2026 Iqbal Singh and Others ......Appellants

Versus

Malkiat Singh (Since deceased) through his LRs and Others ......Respondents

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE AMARINDER SINGH GREWAL ****

Present:

None for the appellants.

Mr. Vinay Kumar Mahajan, Advocate, and Mr. Sushant Mahajan, Advocate, for contesting respondent No.1.

**** AMARINDER SINGH GREWAL, J. (Oral) 1.

As per the report of the Registry, the notices issued to the appellants have been received back with the endorsement that the house was found locked. On the last date of hearing, even learned counsel for the appellants submitted that he was unable to establish contact with his clients and, even today, no one has appeared on their behalf. Despite sufficient opportunities, no steps have been taken by the appellants to pursue the present appeal.

2.

In these circumstances, it is evident that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the present appeal pending on the docket for an indefinite period.

3.

It thus appears that the appellants are not interested in pursuing the present appeal.

RSA-2212-2000(O&M) 4.

Accordingly, the present appeal is dismissed in default for want of prosecution.

5.

However, liberty is granted to the appellants to seek revival/restoration of the appeal in accordance with law, in case any worthwhile cause survives for adjudication.

6.

Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of. (AMARINDER SINGH GREWAL) JUDGE 28.01.2026 Shubham Whether speaking/reasoned:- Yes/No Whether Reportable:- Yes/No -2SHUBHAM 2026.01.29 17:05 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/order
