UT Chandigarh and others .............Respondent CORAM: HON'BLE MR.JUSTICE JASWANT SINGH Present:- Mr.MS Sodhi,Advocate for the petitioners Jaswant Singh,J.(Oral) Prayer in this petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., is for seeking protection to life and liberty of both the petitioners, who are stated to be major in age and have married against the wishes of parents/brothers (respondents no.5 to 9) of petitioner no.1-wife. They apprehend threat to their life at the hands of said respondents. It is further stated that the couple is residing at H.No.4,Food Drugs and Excise Lab,Sector 11-D,Chandigarh whereas respondents 5 to 9 are residing at H.No.1706, Block-D,Janta Colony,Naya Gaon,Tehsil and Distt.SAS Nagar.
After hearing the learned counsel for the petitioners and keeping in view the directions issued by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Lata Singh v. State of U.P. And another, JT 2006(6) SC 173, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to petitioners to RAJINDER PRASHAD JOSHI 2015.08.27 16:54 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court, Chandigarh.
CRM-M 28825/2015 present themselves before SSP, Chandigarh, who shall take appropriate action, if so warranted in accordance with law. This order shall not be construed to be conferring the legitimacy or authenticity to the factum of marriage having been performed as well as the age, as the Court is clearly deprived of any means to determine the aforesaid facts.
Petition stands disposed of.
