The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus, directing the official respondents to release the detenue namely Sanjana Kumari, wife of the petitioner from the illegal custody of private respondents No. 4 to 7.

After arguing vehemently on the merits of the case, learned counsel for the petitioners prays for withdrawal of the present petition, with liberty to avail alternate remedies as available to him under law. 3.

In light of the above, the present petition stands dismissed as withdrawn, with liberty aforesaid.

It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the liberty granted, if any, is only on the request of the counsel for the petitioners and is not a direction. 5.
