By way of present writ petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioner has approached this Court inter alia for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing official respondents to renew Arms Licence bearing No.DM/ASR/DUP/GRND/ 0118/71, Annexure P-1, which has expired in the year 2019. 2.
Counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner was named as an accused in case FIR bearing No.0038, dated 06.03.2021, lodged under Section 420, IPC, at Police Station Gharinda, District Amritsar. By order dated 07.11.2023, passed by this Court, Annexure P-4, FIR has been quashed on the basis of a settlement between the parties. 2024:PHHC:047244 CWP-7828-2024 -2that prior to passing of the order, Annexure P-4, petitioner had applied for renewal of the Arms Licence by application dated 27.03.2023, Annexure P-3, by depositing the necessary documents as well as the applicable fee, but the respondent authorities have not dealt with the application. 3.
Issue notice to the respondents.

On asking of the Court, Ms. Amrita Garg, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. She submits that she is not aware of the status of application, Annexure P-3.

Having heard counsel for the parties, a direction is issued that in case the application, Annexure P-3, is pending, Licensing Authority shall decide it within a period of four months from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

Petition is disposed of.
