The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 16.05.2012 which expired on 15.05.2022. The petitioner applied for re-issuance of passport. An FIR No. 20 dated 22.02.2022, under Sections 323, 325, 148, 149 of IPC, came to be registered against the petitioner at police station, Ghuman, Police District Batala. The petitioner was issued Emergency Travel Certificate while he was staying in Dubai as he lost his passport in Dubai. 3.

Learned counsel for Union of India states that petitioner has submitted Emergency Travel Certificate issued by Indian Embassy at Dubai PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.11.24 14:11 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP No.9283 of 2023 -2- 2023:PHHC:149881 and his application would be processed within four weeks from today, however, passport would be deposited with trial court because police after completing investigation has already filed report under Section 173 Cr.P.C. in the afore-mentioned FIR.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangment.
