Mr. Sunil Agnihotri, Advocate, for the petitioner. **** RITU BAHRI, J. (Oral) Learned counsel submits that the petitioner has been turned out from her matrimonial home on 25.05.2016 along with her two minor children. A complaint under Domestic Violence Act is pending before the JMIC, Dasuya. The present complaint dated 01.06.2016 (Annexure P-1) has been made to the Director General of Police, Punjab (respondent No.2) to take legal action against private respondent Nos.5 to 12, who were demanded `10 lacs from her in the shape of dowry. Till date no action has been taken against them by the official respondents. In view of above, without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of police, Hoshiarpur (respondent No.3), to look into the complaint/representation (Annexure P-1) and shall make an attempt to settle the matter by referring to Mediation Centre at Hoshiarpur and thereafter shall take appropriate steps against private respondents, in accordance with law.
