Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that she has dispute with her husband-respondent No.5, who is posing threat to her life and liberty. He confines the relief claimed in this petition only to the extent that respondent No.2 may be directed to look into her grievance and protect her life and liberty.

Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana to look into grievance of petitioner as put forth by learned counsel for the petitioner and take appropriate action in accordance with law to safeguard the life and liberty of the petitioner. However, it is made clear that the above order will not be interpreted as providing protection to the petitioner from any legal action taken in any civil, criminal or any other proceedings initiated/pending against her in accordance with law or giving any right to the police to interfere in any civil dispute between petitioner and respondent No.5.
