Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that there is dispute with respondent No.5 over payment of `11 lakhs due towards him and on asking the payment, he is threatening to kill the petitioner and a representation to this effect was made to Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur. He does not press for any relief with regard to the demand of outstanding amount of `11 lakhs towards respondent No.5 and submits that petitioner will avail other legal remedy in this regard. He further submits that Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur be directed to take note of the threat being posed by respondent No.5 to the petitioner and to protect life and liberty of the petitioner.

Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur to verify if there is any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner and if so, take appropriate action in accordance with law. However, it is made clear that nothing observed in this order shall be taken as expression of any view regarding the dispute between the petitioner and respondent No.5 or to provide him any liberty or protection in any civil, criminal or other proceedings pending/initiated against him.
