(proceedings conducted through video conferencing) ***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a direction to respondent No.2 to protect his life and liberty as well as of other members of his family as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.5 to 11 against whom he has lodged FIR No.0104 dated 14.10.2020 registered at Police Station Division Sadar Phagwara, Kapurthala under Sections 323, 324, 326, 341, 509, 148 and 149 of Indian Penal Code, wherein offence under Section 325 IPC was added later on. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is being threatened and forced by the accused in the aforesaid FIR to compromise the matter and that he apprehends serious threat to his life and liberty and also of other members of his family. ( 2 ) CRWP-4347-2021 (O&M) Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and while refraining from making any expression as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala to look into the matter and to get the representation dated 22.4.2021 (Annexure P-2) examined and to dispose off the same in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is any genuine threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner as well as other members of his family, then necessary steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioner as well as other members of his family in any manner.
