***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) The petitioners have approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect their lives as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.4 to 8 as they had married against the wishes of parents of petitioner No.1 Prerna. Interim directions for protecting the lives of the petitioners had been issued to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police-Rural, District Jalandhar Rural.

Today, both the petitioners are present in person and have stated that they have contracted marriage.

( 2 ) CRM-M-3035-2018 (O&M) Upon a query made by this Court, petitioner No.1-Prerna has stated that as of now she is 18 years of age and that she has voluntarily performed marriage with petitioner No.2 Sahil Sabharwal and wishes to reside with him.

In view of the aforestated position, the petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to approach the Senior Superintendent of Police concerned in case they ever apprehend any threat to their lives at the hands of respondents No.4 to 8. Upon any such application being filed, the Senior Superintendent of Police concerned shall examine the threat perception and take necessary steps, as warranted under facts and circumstances so as to ensure that no harm is caused to petitioners. The learned counsel for respondents No.4 to 8 to advise the said private respondents not to take law in their hands.
