The prayer in the present Civil Writ Petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to fill vacant posts of Veterinary Inspectors pursuant to Advertisement No.14/2021 dated 07.07.2021. 2.

Learned counsel would submit that in the advertisement No.14/2021 dated 07.07.2021 (Annexure P1), the petitioner being aspirant had applied and his name figured at Sr. No.715 in the combined merit list dated 01.10.2021 (Annexure P2) and the candidates till Sr. No.709 were selected and appointed whereas 7 more posts are still lying vacant but petitioner is not being considered even though he has obtained his essential qualification from recognized institution and not from RMIT and Guru Kashi, Universities. In this regard, a legal notice dated 19.09.2023 (Annexure P7), has been served upon the respondents, which has yet not evoked any response. He thus, at this stage, on instructions, submits that the petitioner is sanguine of it being considered in a positive manner, in case, a direction is given to the respondents to decide the same in a time bound manner by granting him an opportunity of hearing. 3.
