The petitioner has approached this Court seeking grant of interim bail on the ground that he has lost his mother on 29.4.2021 and that there is none other in the family to perform the last rites as even his father is paralysed. 2.

Notice of motion.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Ajay Pal Singh Gill, DAG, Punjab, upon whom an advance copy of petition had already been served, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.

Learned State counsel has informed that he has received information from ASI Gurinder Singh to the effect that mother of the petitioner has indeed expired and that the last rites are to be performed tomorrow. PANKAJ KAKKAR 2021.05.07 12:03 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Having regard to the aforesated position wherein the factum of death of petitioner's mother has been verified and while also keeping in view the fact that the petitioner is involved in a serious nature of offence, the petition is accepted to the limited extent that the petitioner is permitted to attend the last rites of his mother which are stated to be performed tomorrow. The petitioner shall, however, be taken to attend the last rites of his mother in custody. The Superintendent, Central Jail, Amritsar shall do the needful for taking the petitioner to the place where the last rites of his mother are to be performed while ensuring adequate security. The petitioner shall be confined back in jail tomorrow itself by 05:00 p.m. after attending the last rites of his mother. 6.
