These cases involve similar issues and therefore, are being disposed of together by this common order.

Prayer made in the present petitions is for quashing of the impugned orders, whereby the name of the petitioners were removed from promotion list CII and the ORP ranks granted to them. 3.

The said orders were stayed by the Division Bench of this Court on 24.03.2003, 09.05.2003 and 31.07.2003 respectively, while noticing the contention raised on behalf of the petitioners that Rule 13.8(A) of the Punjab Police Rules, would not apply as they had not been inflicted with any major punishment as was the requirement for the applicability thereof. These orders were continued on 04.05.2006.
