Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.317 dated 27.08.2014 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station A-Division, Amritsar, District Amritsar.
I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and have gone through the record.
From the record, I find that 8 grams of heroin was recovered from the present petitioner and he was granted bail but he absented from the Court proceedings and he was declared proclaimed offender on 06.02.2017. The petitioner filed anticipatory bail application and the Court below dismissed the same and directed him to surrender before the Court. CRM No.M-29589 of 2017 -2given for absence of the petitioner for a long period from the Court and also in view of the fact that petitioner has been declared proclaimed offender, I do not find it a fit case where petitioner is entitled to benefit of anticipatory bail.
Therefore, finding no merit in the present petition, the same is dismissed.
