CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURINDER GUPTA

Petitioners in person with Mr. G.S. Simble, Advocate.
SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Heard.
Learned counsel for petitioners submits that petitioner No.2 Karan son of Prem Lal, who is 20 years of age, though legally he is not competent to marry but he has married with petitioner No.1-Rajni, who is major. He is ready to face the legal consequence of this marriage. Respondents No. 4 to 6, who are parents and brother of petitioner No. 1, are annoyed with this marriage and posing threat to the life and liberty of the petitioners. Petitioners have not come up before this Court with any plea about validity of their marriage but are only seeking protection to their lives and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 to 6. In view of above submission of learned counsel for petitioners, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala, to look into the threat to the lives and liberty of petitioners and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order in his office.
However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings pending/instituted against them. (SURINDER GUPTA) July 20, 2018 JUDGE Sachin M.
