Apprehending threat to their lives and liberty at the hands of the private respondents, the petitioners, who claim to be in a live-in relationship, after crossing eighteen years of age, have come up before this Court by invoking their fundamental rights of life guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India, seeking direction to the State to protect them from the private respondents. 2.

Pursuant to notice issued by this Court, private respondents no.4 and 5 are present in person in the Court. Counsel for respondents no.4 and 5, on instructions, submits that they have no intention at all to cause any harm to the petitioners. Dilbagh Singh father of petitioner no.2 - Sukhmandeep Singh, who is also present in Court, submits that he wants the couple to live happily. Dilbagh Singh submits that in case Respondent no.4 and his family along with petitioners visits his house, he would welcome them with all due regards and decency. Vice versa, in case Dilbagh Singh, father of petitioner no.2 along with his family visits the house of Sukhbir Singh, it is expected that they will also welcome them.

Given such statements by the fathers of the petitioners, who are present in Court, the young couple says that they will welcome their parents to them with all decency and regards and will not create any problems for them whatsoever. Given such assurances, the present petition is disposed of with a direction that if any of the private respondents creates any problem whatsoever to the petitioners, they may contact the concerned SHO, who shall depute two female Constables, preferably in plain clothes, who shall interact with the petitioners and provide protection to them, if required.

This order shall eclipse after 30 days from today. 6.

There would be no need for a certified copy of this order, and any Advocate for the Petitioner and State can download this order and other relevant particulars from the official web page of this court and attest it to be a true copy. The concerned officer can also verify its authenticity and may download and use the downloaded copy for immediate use.

Petition is allowed to the extent mentioned above. All pending applications, if any, stand disposed.
