NIDHI GUPTA, J. (ORAL) The petitioner is seeking anticipatory bail in FIR No. 0015 dated 24.02.2023 (Annexure P-1) registered under Sections 498-A and 406 IPC at Police Station Maloud, District Khanna, Punjab. On 13.04.2023, this Court had passed the following order :- "This is a petition for grant of pre-arrest bail in case FIR No.0015 dated 24.02.2023 under Sections 498-A, 406 IPC registered at Police Station, Maloud, Police District Khanna.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that earlier a complaint was filed by the petitioner's wife/complainant to the SSP on 09.08.2022. Thereupon, a compromise dated 07.10.2022 (Annexure P-2) was entered into between the parties clearly recording that there was no dispute between them regarding the demand of dowry. It is further submitted that there were temperamental differences between them and both used to object to each other going and meeting their respective relatives. It was also agreed in the compromise that either of them will not visit their relatives without each other's consent. Still the instant FIR has been lodged on the same old complaint even after the compromise. It is only to settle personal scores that the allegations of harassment and demand of dowry have been levelled, which are contrary to the compromise willingly RISHU KATARIA 2023.07.25 18:07 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

Notice of motion.

Mr. Jashandeep Singh, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. Adjourned to 25.07.2023.

In the meanwhile, the petitioner shall join the investigation as and when called upon to do so by the Investigating Officer, and in the event of arrest he shall be released on interim bail to the satisfaction of Arresting Officer. The petitioner shall also abide by the conditions of Section 438(2) Cr.P.C"

Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Baljinder Singh states that in terms of the order passed by this Court, reproduced above, the petitioner has joined the investigation and no further interrogation is required at this stage. Petitioner is the father-in-law of the complainant.

In view of the above, the order dated 13.04.2023 granting interim bail to the petitioner is made absolute. However, the petitioner shall abide by the conditions stipulated under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C. He shall also join the investigation and cooperate with the investigating agency in case he is required for the same in future as and when called upon to do so. In case at any given point of time hereinafter, it is felt by the investigating agency that the petitioner is required for the investigation but is not cooperating, they will be at liberty to approach this Court for passing appropriate orders.

The petition stands disposed of.
