This is a petition under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.10 dated 07.02.2023, registered under Sections 498-A and 406 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC) at Police Station City Ahmedgarh, District Sangrur (now District Malerkotla, Punjab).

On 17.04.2023 the following order was passed : " Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that coaccused, father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law of the petitioner have already been granted pre-arrest bail by this Court vide order dated 06.04.2023 (Annexure P-5).

Mr. Jashandeep Singh, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondentState. Mr. J.S. Jaidka, Advocate, has filed power of attorney on behalf of the complainant.

Learned counsel for the petitioner as well as complainant are ad idem that the parties should be referred to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court where they can settle their disputes. Ordered accordingly.

The parties are directed to appear before the Mediation on 24.04.2023.

Adjourned to 03.07.2023.

To be heard with Criminal Miscellaneous No.M-16966 of 2023.

In the meanwhile, petitioner's arrest shall remain stayed to facilitate mediation between the parties." 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that pursuant to the said order the petitioner has joined investigation and has fully cooperated. Learned counsel has further pointed out that the parties have since compromised the matter.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASI Ravi Dutt, has stated that the petitioner has since joined investigation and has

-3fully cooperated and that he is no longer required for further custodial interrogation as of now. He further states that since the matter has been compromised between the parties, he has no objection if the order dated 17.04.2023 is made absolute.

In view of the above, the order dated 17.04.2023 is made absolute. The petitioner shall, however, join investigation as and when called. The petitioner shall also abide by all the terms and conditions as specified under Section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. 6.

Disposed off accordingly. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed off.
