At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the sole grievance now surviving and requiring adjudication in the present matter pertains to the non-release of the due scholarship amount in favour of the petitioner. It is submitted that the procedure governing the release of such scholarship amount mandates that the University Grants Commission shall first release the said amount directly to the account of the University concerned, whereupon the latter is required to release the same further in favour of the student concerned. It is further submitted that, although the scholarship amount was earlier duly transmitted by the University Grants Commission to the respondent-University, the respondent-University DEVINDER YADAV 2026.04.10 09:43 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP-8859-2022 returned the same to the University Grants Commission on account of the delay in submission of the thesis by the petitioner. It is, therefore, requested that directions may be issued to the University Grants Commission to forthwith transmit the admissible scholarship amount directly into the bank account of the petitioner, instead of routing the same through the respondent-University.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent-University as well as for the University Grants Commission fairly do not dispute the petitioner's entitlement to the scholarship amount. Accordingly, the University Grants Commission is directed to remit the admissible scholarship amount directly into the bank account of the petitioner, particulars whereof are set out hereinafter, within a period of 15 days from today.

Since the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed with the issuance of the directions (supra), the instant writ petition is closed. 4.
