**** RAMESHWAR SINGH MALIK J. (ORAL) Petitioner, by way of instant petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., has approached this Court seeking direction to the official respondents to transfer the investigation of FIR No. 114 dated 18.8.2015 under Sections 376/506/34 IPC and FIR No. 115 dated 19.8.2015 under Sections 376-D/506 IPC, both registered at Police Station Dirbha, District Sangrur, to some independent agency, as the petitioner is apprehending that an effective investigation may not be conducted in the said FIRs for the reasons stated in the petition. Learned counsel for the petitioner, at the very outset, fairly states that petitioner has not approached the higher police authorities before filing the present petition. He further submits that given an opportunity, petitioner shall approach respondent No.2 by moving an appropriate representation within a period of one week from today and he may be directed to consider and decide the same within a reasonable time.

CRM-M-29981 of 2015 Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, lest it should prejudice the rights of either of the parties, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur-respondent No.2 is directed that if the petitioner approaches him by moving an appropriate representation within a period of one week from today, he shall consider and decide the same, at an early date by passing an appropriate order thereon, strictly in accordance with law, but in any case within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of representation from the petitioner.

It is further directed that the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur-respondent No.2 shall ensure that no unwarranted harassment, including any threat, is caused to life and liberty of the petitioner as well as his family members, at the hands of private respondents No. 6 to 8 or anybody else on their behalf. With the abovesaid observations made and directions issued, present petition stands disposed of.
