HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J Prayer is for grant of regular bail in case FIR No. 18 dated 27.02.2021 under Section 21/61 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Guruharsahai, District Ferozepur.

As per allegations, 100 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that false recovery has been planted upon the petitioner. The investigation in this case is already complete. The recovery effected is non-commercial and that the petitioner has been in custody since 27.02.2021. Opposing the petition, learned State counsel submits that the challan has been presented on 27.04.2021.

Without commenting anything on the merits of the case and also bearing in mind the current Covid-19 situation where the trial proceedings are being adjourned from time to time, in my opinion, no useful purpose will be served by detaining the petitioner behind bars any further. The petition, as such, is accepted. The petitioner Rani is ordered to be released on bail on her furnishing bail bonds/surety bonds to the satisfaction of learned trial Court/Chief Judicial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate concerned. This present petition stands accepted accordingly.
