(ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. has been made for grant of regular bail to petitioner Sonia in a case arising from FIR No.108 dated 10.10.2017 registered under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chohla Sahib, Tarn Taran. According to the prosecution, 50 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that alleged recovery falls in category of "non-commercial quantity". Petitioner is in custody since 10.10.2017. Conclusion of trial may take a sufficient long time. No useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind bars.

On the other hand, learned State counsel has vehemently opposed the bail application.
