Rajan Gupta, J (Oral) This is a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C seeking a direction to respondent Nos. 2 & 3 to provide adequate security to the petitioner and his family members as they apprehend danger to their life at the hands of private respondents.

Learned State counsel has filed status report by way of affidavit of Baljit Singh Sidhu, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kotkapura, District Faridkot. Referring to same, she submits that respondent No.8 is behind the bars as he has been arrested in pursuant to FIR No. 263 dated 21.12.2014 registered under Sections 307/506/336/120B/148/149 IPC at Police Station, City Kotkapura. It is, therefore, evident that prayer made in the petition for grant of security qua respondent No.8 no longer survives. As regards respondent No.7, representation of the petitioner may be examined by the competent authority.

This petition is disposed of accordingly.
