Petitioner No.1 - Sharanjit Kaur, aged about 33 years, and petitioner No.2 - Ranjit Singh, aged about 37 years, have filed present petition for seeking protection to their lives and liberty, which is stated to be in danger at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 8. 2.

Short reply dated 05.04.2023, by way of affidavit of DSP, SubDivision Baba Bakala Sahib, on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3, has already been filed in registry. Same is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. Office to tag the same at appropriate place.

A copy thereof has already been handed over to the counsel for the petitioners.

Para No.3 of the said short reply says as under:- "3.

That the deponent has obtained a detailed report dated 28.05.2022 from the Station House Officer, Police Station Khilchian, Amritsar (Rural) (respondent No. 3) relating to the facts alleged by the petitioners in the present petition and its subject matter thereof. In his aforesaid report, the JAWALA RAM 2023.04.20 14:19 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgement.

2023:PHHC:055408 CRWP-4103-2022 - 2 - respondent No. 3 has reported that an enquiry in respect of the representation dated 23.04.2022 (Annexure P-4) filed by the petitioners has been got conducted through ASI Nishan Singh for the verification of the allegations made by the petitioners, who joined the petitioner No. 1 and the respondent No. 5 and 6 in the enquiry proceedings. During the aforesaid enquiry, it has been found that the petitioners are living in a live-in relationship as both are adult persons and they are not keeping any relations with their respective families. The petitioner No. 1 has got recorded her statement that now she does not have any threat from anybody and she does not want to take any action against anyone and that her representation be consigned. The true translation of the aforesaid enquiry report dated 28.05.2022 is attached herewith for the kind perusal of this Hon'ble Court as Annexure R-1/T."

In view of the fact that statement of petitioner No.1 has already been recorded to the effect that there is no threat perception at this stage. Counsel for the petitioners submits that he does not wish to press the present petition, at this stage.

Dismissed as not pressed, at this stage.
