Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, for protection of life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondents No.3 and 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that mother of the present petitioner lodged an FIR bearing No.08 dated 24.02.2025 under Section 7, 7-A of P.C. Act, 1988 along with Section 61(2) of BNS, 2023, at Police Station Vigilance Bureau Patiala, District Patiala against respondents No.3 and 4, due to which, they are harassing the petitioner and also threatened to involve him in false cases if the aforesaid case/FIR against respondents No.3 and 4 is not withdrawn or if they did not depose in their favour. In this regard, the petitioner has moved a representation dated 27.02.2026 (Annexure P-1), but no action has been taken thereon. It is further submitted that upon receiving of the advance copy of the present petition, he was called yesterday for recording the statement. Mr. Anup Singh, AAG, Punjab, in pursuance of advance notice, appears and contended that the representation is dated 27.02.2026, but the postal receipt is dated 13.03.2026, however, the representation has not been received and such representation is annexed with the advance copy of the petition. Learned State counsel further submitted that the authorities will take action on the representation in accordance with law. 5.

Keeping in view the contention raised by learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned State counsel, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, to consider and to take necessary action on the representation dated 27.02.2026 (Annexure P-1) in accordance with law.
