JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (ORAL ) Petitioners claim that they have attained majority and married against the wishes of their family members. Apprehending threat to their life and liberty, they have filed the present petition for protection. Petitioners claim to have submitted a representation (Annexure P-5) dated 9.5.2021, in this regard to the Superintendent of Police, Jind.

On asking of the Court, Mr.Deepak Manchanda, Addl. A.G., Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of the State. Copy stands supplied. The petitioners have placed on record the copy of Aadhar Cards as well as copy of school certificate of petitioner No.1, (Annexures P-1 to P-3) as proof of their age. Copy of certificate (Annexure P4) regarding performance of marriage has also been placed on record. This petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 - S.H.O., Police Station Garhi, District Jind, that representation, if any, filed seeking protection of life and liberty, be looked into and contents thereof be duly verified and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, strictly in accordance with law for grant of protection of life and liberty to the petitioners. It is made clear that this order shall not be treated as a stamp of this Court regarding marriage of the parties. May 17, 2021.
