CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE AMAN CHAUDHARY ***** Present :

None for the petitioner.

Mr. Manipal Singh Atwal, DAG, Punjab.

***** AMAN CHAUDHARY, J. (Oral) 1.

Prayer made in the present petition is for quashing the impugned order dated 23.10.2003, rejecting the representation of the petition for appointment.

2.

Learned State counsel refers to preliminary objection No.3 of the written statement dated 24.05.2004 stating therein that posts of Multipurpose Health Workers (Male) were created under the centrally sponsored schemes of Govt. of India and as per instructions dated 01.10.2001 issued by the Punjab Govt., the staff could only be recruited on contract basis and not on regular, it is thus the Subordinate Service Selection Board, Punjab was requested to cancel the proposal for recruitment on 08.11.2001, Annexure R-IV. However the Board failed to response to the letter and wrongly recommended the names of selected candidates. It was further submitted that some selected candidates had filed CWP-102-2003 titled as Satpal and others vs. State of Punjab, which was dismissed on 07.01.2003 by the Division Bench, Annexure R-I, based on which CWP-3273-2003 was also dismissed on 23.03.2004 and that as per settled law mere selection does not confer any right for appointment. 3.

In view of the above, there being no merit in the petition, the same is dismissed.
