By way of present petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C., petitioner is seeking regular bail in a case registered against him vide FIR No.3 dated 14.01.2014 under Sections 406 and 420 IPC at Police Station Division No.6, Jalandhar.

Admittedly, petitioner had absconded during trial and was ultimately caught by the police. After his arrest, he is stated to be in custody for almost four months. Learned counsel for the petitioner undertakes that petitioner shall not absent from the proceedings on any date in future and shall submit his affidavit before the trial court in this regard. In view of the above, no useful purpose would be served by detaining the petitioner any longer. This petition is hereby allowed.
