The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent to re-issue her passport with correct place of birth.

The petitioner applied for passport and was issued on 29.09.2023. The said passport is valid for 10 years. She found that place of birth has been wrongly recorded in the passport. She applied for re-issuance of passport with correct place of birth.

Ms. Ruchita Garg, Central Government Counsel for Union of India submits that petitioner has submitted birth certificate which discloses that her place of birth is 'Brindpur' whereas she has claimed 'Kala Sanghian, Kapurthala' in her application. The certificate is contrary to her PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2024.05.16 04:49 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP No.7857 of 2024 -2claim, thus, no correction in her passport can be made. She is at liberty to file a fresh application with better particulars which would be considered, in accordance with law.

Counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement. 5.
In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
