RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) Through this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. prayer has been made for grant of regular bail to petitioner Naseeb Kaur in a case arising from FIR No.36 dated 27.03.2018 registered under Section 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 at Lambi, District Sri Muktsar Sahib.

According to the prosecution, on 27.03.2018 petitioner and her co-accused Harjinder Singh were apprehended and 07 kgs of poppy husk was recovered jointly from them.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that chargesheet has already been framed. Petitioner is in custody for more than four months and four days. Co-accused Harjinder Singh has already been granted regular bail by the Sessions Court. Conclusion of trial may take a sufficient long time. No useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind bars.

Learned State counsel has vehemently opposed the grant of Ravinder Singh 2018.08.03 16:36 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document regular bail to the petitioner.

Consequently, petitioner is ordered to be released on bail, on her furnishing bail bonds and surety bonds to the satisfaction of Trial Court/Duty Magistrate concerned.
