The petitioner seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus so as to direct respondents No.1 and 2 to protect his life and liberty as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of respondent No.3. 2.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner, but without commenting anything as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, Punjab to examine the alleged threat perception of the petitioner. 3.

CRWP-3099-2024 (O&M) ( 2 ) 2024:PHHC:047254 already been filed or is filed, respondent No.2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, Punjab shall get the same examined expeditiously in accordance with law. Further, in case, it is found that there is any gunine threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner, then necessary steps as may be warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioner in any manner. 4.

It is further clarified that the aforesaid order is not to be construed as any kind of protection to the petitioner, in case it is found that he has committed any wrong.

Needless to mention, the authorities concerned shall proceed strictly in accordance with law.
