The present petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking protection of life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondents No. 5 to 8.

Brief facts of the case are that the petitioner is a senior citizen and after the death of husband of the petitioner in the year 2017, the petitioner started residing with her children. After the passage of about 4-5 months both the sons of the petitioner started troubling and harassing her and after enduring years of taunts and harassment since 2017, the petitioner has been living a miserable life and has been subjected to continuous cruelty at the hands of private respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that for redressal of her grievance, the petitioner has filed representations dated 09.01.2026 and 03.03.2026 before respondents No.4 and 3, respectively, however, no action has been taken thereon till date.

After hearing learned counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No. 3 and 4 to decide the representation dated 09.01.2026 and 03.03.2026 filed by the petitioner qua the threat perception in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and to grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty to the petitioner, is perceived. It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner for legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by her.
