The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of direction to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents and to take appropriate action against them.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that for redressal of their grievance, the petitioner has filed a complaint dated 29.01.2026 (Annexure P-1) before respondent No.2 i.e. the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, however, no action has been taken thereon till date. 3.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Sahil Chowhdary, AAG Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.

After hearing learned counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No. 2 to decide the complaint dated 29.01.2026 (Annexure P-1) qua the threat perception filed TRIPTI SAINI 2026.03.19 17:39 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-3139-2026 (O&M) -2by the petitioners in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and to grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty to the petitioners, is perceived. It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioners for legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by them.
