The alleged detenue Priya has been brought to this Court by her father Harish Chander and mother Phool Kumari. Priya has been asked whether she had got married with the petitioner, to which she has replied that she was married with petitioner by force and she had not given her valid consent to the same. To a pointed question whether she is residing with her parents voluntarily or is being illegally detained by them, she has stated that she is residing with her parents of her own and they have not illegally detained her.

Learned State counsel has informed that statement of Priya was got recorded by a Magistrate on 18.8.2017, whereas she has stated that she had gone to Shimla along with her friends on 14.8.2017 and thereafter she returned from that place and wanted to go to her parental house. Priya has been asked whether she wants to meet petitioner Ravi Singh, as per request Parvinder Singh 2017.09.21 10:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRM-M-31309 of 2017 of petitioner and his counsel, Priya stated that she does not want to meet petitioner.

It being so, no further action in the matter is called for. The petition stands dismissed accordingly.
