On perusal of the paper-book, I find that daughter of petitioner Sanjiv Kanwar and Geeta Bani namely, Twinkle married with respondent No.5 Rohan and both filed a petition bearing No. CRM-M-22345-2018 seeking protection of their life and liberty as they were apprehending danger to their lives at the hands of petitioners and others. That petition was disposed of vide order dated 23.05.2018 with direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur to look into the matter and take appropriate action.

A representation dated 11.06.2018 has been moved by petitioners to Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur stating therein that after marriage, Twinkle has gone to Canada and thereafter, private respondents have started threatening to implicate the petitioners in a false Sachin Mehta 2018.07.31 18:05 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document HIGH COURT, CHANDIGARH case.

CRM-M-32269-2018 -2Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that protection to the life and property of petitioners be provided as the parties are residents of the same area.

It appears that the grouse of petitioners is regarding the decision of their daughter Twinkle to marry respondent No.4 without their permission. The mere fact that private respondents are threatening to involve the petitioners in some false case, is no reason to issue any direction to the police. Such averments are made in this type of petitions in routine. Petitioners are at liberty to take appropriate action at appropriate stage and counter the act of private respondents, if any initiated against them. This petition has no merits. Dismissed.

However, as and when the petitioners apprehend threat to their life and liberty, they may move application before Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, who will look into the allegations in the representation, verify and take appropriate action in accordance with law.
