Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.16 dated 04.06.2018 under Sections 409, 120-B IPC and Sections 13(1)(c)(d) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, registered at Police Station Vigilance Bureau Ferozepur Range, Ferozepur.

Ms.Monika Jalota, DAG, Punjab, has put in appearance on behalf of the respondent-State and contested the petition. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned State counsel and have gone through the record. As per the allegations in the FIR, the Malkhana of police station Vigilance Bureau Range, Ferozepur was inspected on 20.02.2018 VINEET GULATI 2018.08.17 12:24 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh and on checking of register No.19, it was found that cash of `1,01,195/-
CRM No.M-32462 of 2018 -2including `8,000/- of trap money, one gold ring, one silver bracelet, two silver rings, two mobile phones, 24 watches, two rings, 78 bags of rice, one motor switch etc. were missing.
As per the allegations, present petitioner Rajpal also remained posted for substantial period in the Malkhana i.e. from 07.08.2008 to 21.03.3013. The FIR was registered after thorough enquiry conducted by the team headed by DSP Palwinder Singh.
Keeping in view the allegations against the petitioner and facts and circumstances of the present case, I find that he is required for custodial interrogation as recoveries are yet to be effected and no ground is made out for grant of anticipatory bail to him.
Therefore, finding no merit in the present petition, the same is dismissed.
