Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that on the complaint of petitioner, FIR No.30 dated 05.04.2018 was registered at Police Station Khilchian, District Amritsar (Rural). However, the police has not taken any further action in the matter. After the registration of the FIR, it is right of the complainant to know about the progress of her case and to be heard but the police is not proceeding further or apprising her of any progress in the case. To this effect, a representation (Annexure P-2) was sent to Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural) but no action has been taken. In view of submission of learned counsel for the petitioner but without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.
2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural) to look into the representation Annexure P-2 and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order. However, it is made clear that the above order will not be interpreted as providing protection to the petitioner from any legal action taken in any civil, criminal or any other proceedings initiated/pending against him in accordance with law.
