ANIL KSHETARPAL, J(Oral) While praying for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, the petitioner prays for direction to the respondents to issue him an appointment letter as a staff nurse in Ex-Servicemen (Backward Class) category or Other Backward Class category.

From perusal of the file, it becomes evident that the petitioner pursuant to the recruitment notice issued in the year 2016, filled up the form claiming reservation under Backward Class category. He never claimed reservation under Ex-Servicemen category. At the time of counselling, he produced some documents to claim reservation under Ex-servicemen category. In the absence of provision in the recruitment notice, a candidate cannot be permitted to change the category from one to another. The learned counsel representing the petitioner failed to draw the attention of the Court to any such provision in the recruitment notice or the Rules.
