[1] The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.

[2] This petition is filed seeking issuance of directions to the respondents to release the petitioner in F.I.R. No. 74, dated 15th March, 1999 under Section 302 read with Section 34 of IPC, registered at Police Station Sadar Fazilka, District Ferozepur by allowing him the benefit of special remission.

[3] Mr. Lupil Gupta, learned counsel for the petitioner after realizing that this petition is filed without moving an application for remission of sentence with the appropriate Forum, seeks permission to withdraw this petition.

[4] The petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
