(Oral) On account of death of one Natha Singh, aged about 57 years working as a Beldar statedly drawing salary of Rs.6000/- per month in a motor vehicular accident which took place on 30.07.2001 at about 2.00 PM in the area of Gagan Chowk, Rajpura allegedly on account of rash and negligent driving of truck bearing No.PB02-H-9950 (for short 'the offending truck') by respondent No.2 Gurnam Singh, LRs of such deceased i.e. his three major sons namely Sarup Singh, aged about 35 years, Phool Chand Singh aged about 32 years , Gurmukh Singh, aged about 30 years had brought a claim petition under Section 166 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 against M/s Kandhari Beverages Ltd., Chandigarh-owner, Gurnam Singh-driver and New India Assurance Company Ltd., Patiala insurer of the truck in question, claiming compensation to the tune of Rs.6 lacs.
